When to call

Heating and Cooling Problems

These are the common reasons to call for HVAC repair, and each one traces back to a cause that can be measured and fixed.

  • Uneven temperatures

One room runs warm while the hall stays cold. A system that was never sized with a load calculation, or zoning that was badly set up, is a common cause.

  • Weak airflow

The blower runs but barely a breath reaches the vents. A dirty "evaporator coil", the indoor coil, cuts cooling and chokes the air before it ever gets to the rooms.

  • Noisy vents

Whistling, rattling or a rush of air at the registers usually means the ducts and the equipment were never matched to each other.

  • Rising energy bills

The bill climbs while the house feels the same or worse. "Short cycling", a unit that keeps turning on and off, burns power without pulling the moisture out.

  • A system that will not start

The thermostat calls and nothing happens, or the outside unit hums and quits. That one does not wait, so ring us before it gets hot inside.

Something else going on?

Tell us what the system is doing and when it started. We will say on the phone whether it needs a visit.

HVAC Repair in Biloxi

HVAC repair on residential and commercial systems traces a heating or cooling fault to its cause before any part is replaced.

A failed part is usually the symptom, not the reason. A burned-out capacitor, a compressor running hot or a coil that froze over each had something behind it, and swapping the part without finding that brings the same trouble back.

So the work starts with measurements: pressures, temperatures, amp draw and airflow, read across the "condenser coil" outside, the "air handler" inside and the ducts between them. Homes and businesses alike, a central split or a packaged rooftop unit, the method holds.

  • We quote the whole job before we start
  • No surprise charges after
  • We show up when we say we will
  • We clean up when the work is done

How a Fault Is Diagnosed

A diagnosis measures pressures, temperatures, amp draw and airflow, and it ends in an honest diagnosis and a written quote before any work begins.

  1. You call, we listen

Tell us what the system is doing and when it started. We answer the phone or call back the same working day.

  2. Pressures and temperatures

Gauges on the service valves read the "refrigerant" side, what most people call Freon, and a probe reads the air going in and coming out.

  3. Amp draw and airflow

A clamp meter reads what the compressor and the motors pull, and airflow is checked at the coil and at the registers.

  4. Diagnosis and written quote

You get an honest diagnosis and a written quote for the whole repair before work begins, with no surprise charges after.

Repair or Replace the System

When a repair would cost more than 40% of a new system on a unit older than 12 years, contractors quote both the repair and the replacement so you can weigh them side by side.

40%Repair against new

12 yrsUnit age

A failed compressor is the usual tipping point, since its price often pushes an older system toward replacement. On a younger unit, or with a smaller part, the repair is usually the better buy.

Tell us what the system is doing.

We will come out, measure it and put the diagnosis and the repair in writing before anything begins.
